Take the earth with you on your next trip. Well not literally, but if you happen to have an iPhone or iPod Touch, then you can take Google Earth with you.
The mobile Google Earth application is a must for any would be traveler. You get the same satellite and aerial images that are available on the desktop version. We are talking high-resolution images for over ‘half of the world’s population and a third of the world’s land mass‘.
Google Earth for the iPhone / iPod Touch features:
- Panoramio photo layer, which allows you to see millions of geo-located photos (submitted by users) from around the world. These photos allow you to search out the best attractions for your trip.
- Wikipedia layer that lets you view geo-located Wikipedia articles.
- Local search
- Motion detection - you can adjust the view of mountainous terrain by tilting the iPhone or iPod Touch
